Sam rehearsing with a violinist and cellist

Hi, I’m Sam.

As a lifelong musician, I’m deeply passionate about music and sound. I believe great music and well-crafted sound design is key in transforming projects into finished productions, and videos into impactful stories.

I offer a range of services to fit your needs—whether you are a filmmaker looking for music or sound design for your film, TV show, or commercial, a composer looking for assistance, or an artist looking for a producer who can bring your ideas to life.

I also teach Music Production at Berklee College of Music, where I have the privilege of helping the next generation of producers and artists develop their craft.

What collaborators say

“Each creative decision felt like the fruitful result of our collaboration.”

I am so grateful for the experience. He dedicated himself to this film and I could feel the passion he brought to his craft. He was always available to talk ideas and he delivered changes super quickly. In our meetings he would listen to my thoughts with respect whilst also offering his professional and creative viewpoint. Each creative decision felt like the fruitful result of our collaboration but with his professional perspective guiding the way. In the end, I am so happy with the final sound of the film and for the experience working with Sam.

Arthur Gay — Director/Writer

“From our initial meeting all the way through delivery, Sam was efficient, creative, and maintained a positive, collaborative attitude throughout.”

Sam graciously stepped in to save me on a project that was already significantly delayed! From our initial meeting all the way through delivery, Sam was efficient, creative, and maintained a positive, collaborative attitude throughout. I’m very pleased with the sound design he created for my short film, and I look forward to working with him again in the future!

Ana Isabel Dow — Filmmaker

“The song Sam created for the film was perfect, everything I’d wanted and more.”

I came to Sam for the ending song for my film. I knew what I needed but was struggling to find a song that worked or even describe what I needed to get one written. I sent him my script, 2 songs I sort of liked but that weren’t quite right, and tried (not very articulately) to explain what I was going for over a zoom call. The song Sam created for the film was perfect, everything I’d wanted and more. Sam is incredibly talented, kind, and lovely to work with. Can’t recommend him enough!

Lalia Hays — Director/Filmmaker

Working together

FAQ

Will I be working with you directly?

Yes! I tend to work directly with the people I’m making things for, so you’ll be talking with me from the first message all the way to final delivery.

How fast can you turn things around?

It depends on what you need. Sometimes I can turn something around within a couple of hours, and a lot of requests are done within 24 hours. For bigger projects, we’ll agree on a timeline that works for both of us.

A tight deadline with a big ask is kind of where I shine, so don’t be shy about sending the rush jobs.

What do I get at the end?

The final mix, plus any alternate mix versions you need and stems, so your editor or mixer has room to work.

How does licensing work?

Every license is priced based on how the track will be used. The main things that shape it are:

  • Exclusive or non-exclusive (whether anyone else can license the same track)
  • Where it’s going (online, broadcast and cable, streaming, theatrical)
  • Territory (one region or worldwide)
  • Term (how long you’ll be using it)

Send me the track you like and a quick note on where it’s going, and I’ll get back to you with a quote.

What should I send to get started?

A link to your cut (even a rough one), your timeline and a rough budget is perfect. The form below has room for all three.

Let’s make something.
